Interview from the US with Innanable

We were captivated by the mystical and intriguing designs of «Innanable,» a store that blends art and fashion with symbolism. To learn more about this brand, we interviewed Inna, the face of the brand, who shared the secrets behind the designs and how they connect with spiritual practices such as visualization, meditation, yoga, and artistic disciplines like dance.

Hello Inna, thank you for granting us this interview. Where does the name «Innanable» come from and what does it mean to you?

The name «Innanable» comes from the name Inna, which has a Slavic origin and means «strong water» or «fast-flowing stream.» In Slavic mythology, water deities and spirits were significant, and names associated with water were considered powerful and protective. Additionally, I have associated it with the Sumerian goddess Inanna, who represents the famous «Hero’s Journey» in its female version. Basically, it is the inner journey to combat our own fears, something many people can relate to.

Did this inspire you to create a clothing line based on the symbols of the Sumerian goddess Inanna?

Yes, I believe she represents the journey that many people have made, are making, or will make in the future. Personally, these symbols help me stay centered on my thoughts, desires, and actions. This makes me feel more connected with other people or circumstances that vibrate on the same frequency and helps me focus on achieving my goals.

How do you integrate the ancient symbols of Inanna into your designs? What do they mean to you?

Symbols have deep meanings, whether we know them or not. Some are very well known, like crosses, earrings, images on our clothes, tattoos, and so on. Some are very well known, others more secret, although nowadays almost nothing is secret since you can find their meanings in places like Wikipedia. But few people are interested in knowing their meanings and even fewer integrate them into their lives consciously to achieve certain goals. For example, in our logo, we have represented several symbols of Inanna that have specific and powerful meanings whose history is lost in the history of humanity, and yet we still resonate with them. But at this point, we do not want to make people believe that we sell magical clothes; the magic is in your mind and what you can do with it with determination and discipline. Symbols, in my opinion, help you stay focused on the goal or the idea that the symbol represents.

What type of people do you think are most attracted to your designs and why?

Most of our customers are people interested in spirituality, personal growth, many of them practice meditation, yoga, dance. They are people who believe in the importance of consciously choosing symbols. They seek to connect with something deeper and more meaningful through what they wear. We also have people who simply find the designs beautiful, but I am convinced that everyone is looking for a symbol, and if you find it in my store and resonate with it, fantastic!

How do you think Inanna’s symbolism can influence the energy and well-being of those who wear your clothes?

Here I want to emphasize that we do not sell magical clothes with mystical powers. Inanna’s symbols, like any other symbol or logo, have the power to influence what a person conveys, even the energy of those who wear them. Many times we wear a garment because it makes us feel more confident, either because we think it looks better on us or because it brings us luck or something similar. It is all in our minds, and the mind is powerful. We can use a symbol to convey something to others or to ourselves. For other people who are not aware of this, it may seem like a pretty drawing or something unimportant, but for those in the know, these symbols help them focus. This type of language is widely used in art or architecture, where there are several levels of message in the same work, and only those with certain knowledge can recognize and resonate with it, while for others, it is simply aesthetic.

Could you share a story or testimony from customers who have felt a positive impact from wearing your clothes?

We do not sell magical garments that guarantee positive effects, but we do have satisfied customers who have resonated with the symbolism we use. They feel good conveying a message perhaps hidden from many but that has an effect on themselves and other knowledgeable people. For example, a person may wear a baseball or soccer team t-shirt to show their support for that team or to bring luck during a match. We can all see that a lot of energy moves in these types of events where symbols are very present. In the same way, it happens if you consciously use a symbol; it helps you focus your thoughts and personal energy on something concrete that you are looking for at that moment, so that is the positive impact of our garments. But I emphasize again, it is not the garment itself that does it, but you; a symbol only helps you stay focused.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to consciously wear garments with symbols?

My advice would be to follow their intuition, and the symbols will become visible as they acquire certain knowledge. To give a simple example, a child wants to wear a t-shirt of their favorite character from a series or movie; if you haven’t seen that movie, you have no idea who it is, but for that child, it can be a character they identify with and emulate, and they feel good wearing it and showing it to the world. Other people use mathematical formulas or phrases in Arabic or Chinese that are hidden from most people; there are many subjective and interesting things behind the messages we want to give ourselves and the world around us. The important thing is to understand and respect the meanings behind the symbols people use and always be attentive to those that resonate with you.

Do you have any future projects or new collections you can tell us about?

Yes, we are working on a new collection that will integrate a symbolism that is both evident and hidden, something that is aesthetic but conveys something. Additionally, we plan to launch a line of accessories that complement our garments; it is a job that takes time and dedication.
